You don’t feel safe!
Logically, you realize everything that’s happening now has happened before, and the world didn’t end. Maybe everything we thought we knew has ended. At least temporarily. There’s a timetable and cycle for every natural occurrence. There is a rhythm. Like the tides, that wash in and wash out. Hurricanes, tornados and forest fires come in cycles. So do droughts and floods. Everything in nature happens in cycles – including epidemics and pandemics.
But, even though we know that truth, we feel fear when the latest one happens. Right now, in this COVID-19 epidemic we, as business owners, are seeing mayhem, panic, and lots of fear. If we are to be leaders during these challenging time, we must stay calm and help others be reasonable and productive.
Certainty is a feeling we first create in our mind. If our thoughts rule our mind, and they do, how do we get back to a place of confidence and self-control. I think clarity is the answer. Clarity, in times of uncertainty, means we understand that we are ok, right now, in this moment. That we always find the way. That we will be okay.
What else do we really have? We only have this moment, NOW. What is more real than that? As we look at the “new” and temporary normal, we realize that EVERYTHING changes, all the time. Change, my friends, is the ONE thing we can count on.
We, as human beings, have the gift of creative thinking. Our brain is wired to handle this-all of it. YOU were created to RISE UP through adversity and deal effectively with problems. There are things we can do right now. I will be sharing thoughts, ideas and strategies that will help us navigate through the challenges we are facing.
One of the most rewarding things we’re seeing in our professional circles, along with the uncertainty, is a higher level of thinking. People are banding together, sharing information and FIGURING THIS OUT. That inspires me to contribute instead of complain. To collaborate rather than criticize. To take constructive action, not shrink down in uncertainty.
I hope this is energizing you, too. United we become a fierce force for health, for resilience and for recovery!
